Dear Friends,

Greetings from Coimbatore in South India.

This time I have been in India for two months and it’s been a good time. The team visit in January with 12 people was a great experience and fruitful once again as many people came to Christ.

This was the 26th team into India by Global Nulife. This visit was, as always, “full on” with three Leaders’ Day seminars. These were such a blessing as we witnessed the leaders’ hunger for the Word along with zeal and commitment to their calling. The children were awesome with their songs and dances.

We witnessed great challenges due to cyclone damage of the large center in Chennai (Pastor Samuel Paul). Many of our church buildings need repair also, and two of our largest orphanages need outside painting. Please pray and help if you can.

After much thought and prayer, I decided to have my needed surgery for a left hip replacement here in Coimbatore. The Lord led me to the top orthopedic surgeon in Tamil Nadu. It’s been a success, and now just a matter of recovery, which takes time. After two weeks in the Orthopedic Hospital, where I was made a great fuss of, I was hosted by my American friends, Glenn and Laura McMurray. They both teach in the Bible college of Bethel City Cathedral, which has 7,000 members.

Besides the church’s great support, our dear Indian brothers showed their love and respect for me by coming to visit me. They came from Chennai, Bangalore, Gobi, Kakinada and Narsapur in Andra Pradesh. For some, it was 24 hours by train one way.

They brought gifts, smiles and prayers which rather cheered me up, as this experience was more painful than anticipated.

The hospital was also a ripe harvest field and the Lord gave me opportunity for witness. I was able to give Tamil and English New Testaments and materials, which were received graciously. I will water the seed with my prayers.

Thank you for your interest and prayers. Please keep in touch in these challenging and awesome days. We only have a window of time to fulfil our mandate. With Billy Graham’s passing, I am stirred to be part of his legacy by continuing to preach the simple powerful Gospel to the poor and broken of this troubled world.

May the Lord continue to bless and grant favour to you and your families. I believe we are in for a wonderful year.

Lovingly in Christ,

Nancy
Team Report by the Lietzes

This year’s team of twelve people from New Zealand enjoyed wonderful fellowship and unity. Our theme was “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”…bringing Heaven to earth.

Clive and Joy Lietze led the team and it was great that Nancy was able to come too. We had three others who had been on previous trips and we valued their experience. Alan and Irene Morton led worship. This was enriching for our group’s devotions as well as providing great anointing for our ministry times. God answered prayer in providing four men on this year’s team. This helped in sharing the preaching slots. Five areas were visited for ministry and we saw much fruit for God’s Kingdom. Instead of the usual overnight train trips, this year we took flights. This proved to be a saving of energy and time, and on one leg of travel, it was even cheaper than the rail ticket cost.

For the first time in ten years, Coonoor was revisited (in the Ooty area of Tamil Nadu). The team enjoyed this beautiful place, surrounded by tea estates.

We look forward to hearing testimonies of God’s blessings, healings and fruit for His Kingdom.

Testimonies from the mission trip:

Ebby and Anbu (El Shaddai, Gobi) write how they enjoyed the team ministry at “family blessing camps” at Coonoor and Thuthurmattam. They say “our God’s presence filled the whole campus,” and “your prayers and songs and encouraging words touched our hearts.”

Lakshmi had a kidney problem and was in severe pain but did not have enough money for the specialist. After the team prayed for her, she was set free from pain.

Vinay tells how he lost all his money on his business and was planning to kill himself, but first went to the meeting with his wife. There he said “God started to talk to me” and he gave his life to God, and is trusting Him.
