Greetings Dear Friends,

As usual, time has flown by with much activity for us all. Our NZ Trustees met at my home in Tauranga on the weekend (3rd July), coming from New Plymouth, Tapanui and Orewa. We discussed how we could better serve the dear people of India who are subjected to so much suffering.

A belated blessed Independence Day to my American friends. Had it not been for Covid restrictions I would have been celebrating with you! As disturbing as some of the world news is, it only proves how true the Biblical prophecies in the Old Testament and Jesus and Paul’s words in the New Testament are. In fact there has never been a day in the history of mankind that the Bible has been proven more true than in this present time. As the words of the Battle Hymn of the Republic go, “Glory, glory, Hallelujah, His Truth is marching on!” Amid the chaos, darkness and suffering in our world, and especially in India and the 3rd World, our brothers and sisters there are shining like the sun. They are fulfilling in part the prophecy in Isaiah 60:2. “Darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee.”

They are out there continually serving the poor children, pastors and people in dire circumstances. While obeying the great commission they are acting as the hands and feet of Christ. Praying, caring and sharing are the best ways for many to come to faith in Jesus. Thank you for partnering with us in this great work. You are so needed and loved. Because things are very chaotic with Covid in India the need for prayer is greater than ever. Thank you, too, for responding to the need for donations to assist us. Indeed it is an investment–one that will not fail. (Proverbs 19:17) Giving to the poor is
part of the Gospel message. May the Lord bless you and your family with abundance naturally and spiritually so we can share like Jesus did with the miracle of the multiplication of the five loaves and two fish which fed a multitude. (Math.14:19, 20).

Lovingly,

Nancy

Pastors Clive and Joy Lietze report…
The Covid pandemic has brought huge changes to our world, but God’s Word never changes. In James 1:27 NLT it says that pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. We in Global Nulife, fueled by God’s love and compassion, continue to work alongside our dear Indian brothers and sisters through this devastating crisis, by praying and sending monthly financial support. It has been reported that 2000 pastors in Tamil Nadu have died of Covid in addition to high numbers of deaths amongst pastors in Andhra Pradesh.

These are areas of GNLM involvement and we have personally worked with some of these pastors. We grieve with their families and know of more and more people that need supporting. With the lockdown in India there are no church gatherings/services and no support coming in for pastors through their congregations giving. Recent support from NZ has gone to this new need. Some areas have become “Red Zones,” where a total lockdown is enforced by armed police, and people are kept in their homes.

From Pastor Samuel John…
The last couple of months have been very anxious and hard on me. In May my son Juni tested positive with Covid-19, followed by one after another of other family members within the span of ten days. It was horrifying for me as many people whom we know in person have died with Covid-19. While the sick were isolated and under treatment, Juni’s fever went out of control and he had to be shifted to another hospital in a bigger city. While Juni was
still in the hospital my wife, Sarala, was tested positive and after four days she passed away. Juni was just out of the hospital a day before that and our situation was so pathetic that we could not even hug and comfort each other. We believe that she has gone to be with the Lord and there she is free from all the pain and she is enjoying with the Lord Jesus Christ.

We were one of the most badly affected areas with Covid-19. Almost every home had a Covid case. Lots and lots of people died in and around Narsapur. Not only that, many people have died of malnutrition. Also, some have committed suicide because of hunger. We have lost some people in our churches also. Ten of our pastors and their families are Covid positive. Please pray for their complete recovery. The treatment for Covid has become very, very expensive due to the medical mafia. Please pray for provision, financial recovery and the situation to change. Since the churches are closed for almost a year, pastors are struggling to provide for their families.

We are building a community hall with Pastor Yesu Padem. (He previously studied at our Children’s Home.) While the pastor was trying to set up the slab Hindu fanatics came and destroyed the proceedings and took away the building materials forcefully. When we complained to the police and the local leaders they took their side and ignored us. So we went to the district collector and also to the media but no one was willing to take any action. Even though we have all the clearances we were not able to go ahead because they would come in a mob and attack us. So we earnestly prayed and sought the Lord. The opposition was from four people, and one of them died with Covid last month and another died in an accident last week. This has put fear in them that our God is fighting for us and so they have come to the pastor and said they will not object hereafter and so go ahead with your construction. Praise be to God for He fought on our side.

Pastor Johney reports…
Praise the Lord…to God be the glory. I am privileged to be partnering with Global Nulife. It was God who sent Nancy Dykes into my ministry. With your kind help we are able to do this work. We have blessed 300 children and youth in this pandemic. We have shared the gospel to the children and a police officer came to witness the program and to give away the gifts. We have given a good biryani pack, biscuits, books, pens, pencils, and water bottle. The children were very happy and we all prayed together on the street to heal our nation. I thank all sponsors who contributed for this cause. Through our kids clubs many non-Christian children are being reached.
